GEELONG KOKODA YOUTH PROGRAM

NEW YOUTH GRANT
GEELONG CONNECTED COMMUNITIES (GCC) is very excited for a group of young people from the Greater Geelong area who are about to embark on a life-shaping experience by participating in the Geelong Kokoda Youth Program this year.
Sixteen ‘at risk’ or disengaged students from state secondary schools in the Geelong, Bellarine and Surf Coast region will undertake this intensive year-long program that aims to enhance personal development, fitness, health, diet and role modelling with stable and genuine support.
The program involves 20 weeks of physical training, as well as mentors from local business and government organisations, culminating with the incredible 96km Kokoda Trek in Papua New Guinea.
The program also educates the students about the Kokoda World War II story, motivated by the Kokoda pillars of ‘Courage’, ‘Endurance’, ‘Mateship’ and ‘Sacrifice’.
GCC is very thankful to all its partners and sponsors, led by our MAJOR SPONSORS Bendigo Telco and Signature Homes Geelong – for allowing us to provide a $2,000 Grant to support the Geleong Kokoda Youth Program.
This grant specifically falls under our ‘YOUTH’ Category, which is supported by The Gordon and Deakin University.
Another great example of how our supporters are helping to #KEEPGEELONGSTRONG 💪🏻.
